Rolandas Kiškis takes up the post of Director of FCIS

On 16 September, Rolandas Kiškis began his five-year term of office as Director of the Financial Crimes Investigation Service under the Ministry of the Interior (FCIS) and was awarded the rank of General of the Internal Service.

Rolandas Kiškis, who holds a Master's degree in Law, has been working in the internal service system since 1995, and for the last 9 years he has been Head of the Lithuanian Criminal Police Bureau.

Welcoming the new Director of the FCIS, Minister of the Interior Agnė Bilotaitė said that in a rapidly changing world, the nature of financial crimes is also changing. Financial crime schemes are becoming more sophisticated, moving into cyberspace. The implementation of sanctions against Russia and the very rapid development of financial technology pose new challenges.

According to the Minister, the strategic importance of the FCIS in ensuring the country's financial security is growing daily and the service needs new capacities and proactive action.
