Confirmed on 21 April 2004 by the decision No 804/2004/EC of the European Parliament and the Council it is set up to strengthen the Community activities aimed to preclude fraud, detrimental to the Community’s financial interests.
>The Financial Crime Investigation Service according to Hercule programme implements the following two projects:
- project direction “Technical Assistance to the Law Enforcement Institutions, Combating Fraud”
- project direction “Anti-Fraud Training”

On 18-21 September 2006 in Palanga the International Conference “Fighting VAT Fraud in the Baltic Region – Legislative, Investigative and Preventive Side” was held.
